Misunderstood Prop 8 Commercials

Published by jodapoet at 10:29 am under Writing, politics Edit This

Okay I have to comment on this because it is being misrepresented by the Yes on Prop 8 people.  There is a tv commercial running which shows a lesbian couple who have been married and are walking down the steps of City Hall here in San Francisco with children outside cheering and throwing rice.  The yes on prop 8 supporters are saying that it has already begun that school children are being taught about gay marriage.  That is NOT the case in this commercial.  One of the women getting married is a teacher and the children are her school children who went out to support their teacher being married.  They’re not being taught anything.

I’m so sick of the lies in all of these commercials surrounding prop 8.  My question goes out directly to the yes on prop 8 people.  Why are you so afraid?  It’s a valid question.  There was a prayer vigil held here in the bay area by these same people.  They took to a stadium and decided to pray that God would do what’s right.  I actually laughed it was so ridiculous.  Is taking away someones’ rights the right thing to do? C’Mon people answer me.  Why are you so afraid?

Im with you on the gay marriage thing. Why should heteros have all the fun, Divorce court, spousal support, Etc Etc. Just think of the windfall for Divorce lawyers. Also divorce court will definately become a spectators sport. Let em have it. Im willing to bet within 5 years the gays will be whining to have the law overturned.

Everyone in california has the same rights. If you choose to live a gay life style that is your choise. Gay marriage is based on a want from a choise and not based on rights.

jon - you make some good points.

steve - I’m not even going to dignify your response because it’s just either ignorant or misinformed. BTW choise is spelled as choice.

Think outside of the box instead of ignoring my post. I must have struck a nerve, because that is what it breaks down to.PS sorry about my spelling.

Educate yourself. Homosexuality first is not a choice. Gay marriage is based on having the same rights as everyone else. I don’t know your status but how would you like it if you wanted to be married to a woman and someone said no, you shouldn’t have that right? It’s about treating everyone as equals. That’s all it means. Thanks for reading and for your comments.

I don’t know how to put this so I will say this. There is something I believe in firmly and that is that the Word of God keeps me from struggling and going into sin. There is something that is not what this world offers.
To know that there is a god that cares for one deeply and put you in His place by sending His son. . . that is so much to give from a God that knows your heart.
It is so much better to follow Him than to go in circles and staying in what the world expects you or whoever to and I feel. . . GOD’s WAYS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN ONE’s own.
Listen and know that lust can get into some bad places. . . but following the Lord can be as easy as leaving the past and old ways behind. . . and going the long, amazing road. The road following Him can get one so many places. There is a future and there is a calling. There is a time to worship and to love and live as He does.
Without the sin issue. God Bless!

For God so loved YOU READER He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
