Carmen - exactly. I think the daytime shows are beginning to live in the real world. You're right they do feel like family at times.
Thanks for dropping by.

I've never watched "All My Children" but I've been watching "As The World Turns" and "Guiding Light" for about 46 years ( and, more recently, "The Bold and the Beautiful." I remember in my student nurse days, patients would have them on in their rooms
when I was doing their care and that's how I got acquainted with
the characters. I might miss episodes for a month at a time but I'd always reconnect over the years. Now, it's so easy to catch up - with the updates and ability to view whole shows from your computer! Ah, modern technology! And on these programs, as well, they often deal with current issues, diversity, etc. The characters seems like family and old friends. I think it's interesting, though, how similar themes seem to run on parallel shows.

Kelly - Yeah it is. And you are right it can be annoying at times but overall it's a great show.

Emily - Yes, that's the one. It's been around at least 30 years or so. I've been watching it since before Erica was ever married :) Speaking of General Hospital I met Tony Geary (Luke) about 4 years ago. He's a very friendly great guy.

I caught that last week. I was working on my desktop because my laptop was still on the fritz and I couldn't see the tv, but I heard it and I was confused. They were all sitting in a room talking and i thought I accidentally changed the channel!

I think it is so amazing how they stay on top of issues, even very controversial ones. Last year with the transsexual Chloe was amazing. And of course, Bianca being a lesbian.

Great show. Sometimes frustrating and annoying, but still a great show.
