Dreamscapes & Reincarnation

Published by jodapoet at 2:07 pm under Writing, philosophy Edit This

I’m the type of person who drifts into dreamland many times during the night.  I sometimes remember my dreams and sometimes do not however there is always one fascinating aspect to all of my dreams.  I don’t know if any of you have ever experienced this but I do all the time.

In many of my dreams there are other people or characters involved.  When interacting with these people I know who they are yet they look different.  An example: I had a dream about my Mom the other night.  It was a wonderful dream and brought back many beautiful memories.  However though I knew her to by my Mom, she looked completely different and almost as another person.  Does that make sense?  Sometimes when I dream of her or other people, they look as they do now however many times they do not.

This brings me to delve into and question past lives and future lives.  I do believe in reincarnation, always have and this very much fascinates me and massages the mind.  I also believe that when we die and are reborn or reincarnated that we travel with the same souls.  In other words the people in are lives now, when we die will be of the same souls in another life.  As a result, I’m thinking maybe this explains my dreams.  Although the people in my dreams are different in their looks and sometimes even gender, they are of the same souls and therefore evidence of a previous life.  I’m thinking maybe some of these dreams are actually situations I’ve experienced in a past life.

I know, you’re all thinking okay what’s she smoking? Seriously though this happens often enough, as I dream every night, that it begs a look see.   I’m just wondering if any of you have the same types of dreams and what are your thoughts on reincarnation and past lives?

Tree Rivera - Funny you should mention that. I have felt at times that a part of me was leaving my physical self and when I’ve felt this I would automatically wake up. I never knew what it was but it always scared me. This happens every so often. I’m glad you mentioned it and I’m not the only one.

Ratty - Wow! That is fascinating. I’ve never experienced that. Have you experience that more than once?

    Hi,

    Yes,

I have had many dreams of past lives all of my life. I think that this is fairly common, only people don’t understand what they are. I have had the exact same experience of people in my life looking different and yet somehow I knew who they were. Sometimes they will have the same eyes or the same look in there eyes. I dreamed about my daughter before she was born and when she was born I knew who she was. I dreamed that she was someone who lived with me on a plantation in Louisiana during the civil war. I saw our house and everything. I knew who I was and I knew her name was Katherine. One day, when she was about 6 she said to me,” Mommy, I’ve been having this dream about living in a white house with pillars and you were there only it wasn’t you!” Then we were able to compare notes and it was a wonderful experience.

Ratty - OMG that must have been terrible and to feel the actual pain? Then death with no pain. It seems as if you were on another realm or plane and actually lived the shooting. Wow!

Tree - Yes, there is something to that. Souls traveling in spirit groups which are together throughout time. I’ve always believed that was the case and now you’ve proven that theory. Excellent. thanks for reading.

I’ve never really thought about it this way, but this has happened to m too. I’ll tell people, “I had a dream, and you were in it, but it wasn’t REALLY you.” The other weird thing is when people are in your dreams who have no connection in your actual life. Like a friend from work now and an old friend from college. Then again, through social networking sites like facebook, I sometimes later find out that they do in fact know each other.

I’ve read through your blog and it was interesting, so I’m adding your link to both of my blogrolls. Feel free to check out my blogs and link them if you’d like!

Yeah I know how that feels. I actually many years ago about 25 years ago or so I had a dream and saw this guy’s face very clearly. I remembered the dream while awake basically because this guy was cute. Long story short, I’m on the streetcar going to work that morning and who gets on the car? The guy with the face. I have to admit it scared the you know what out of me and what was weird was he kept looking at me though probably because I was staring at him. It was a very strange experience.

I will check out your blogs and add you.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
