Going Green
It is of the utmost importance for all of us to make that commitment to help save our world and begin to recycle and go green. If we each do our part monumental changes can be made. Many supermarkets have now stopped using plastic bags. As a result they have gone to using paper bags which can be reused. The upside is this is great for the environment as the paper can be recycled. However by switching to paper the stores have had to spend more money thus passing that extra fee onto food prices. I think if we all just spend a little cash and buy a canvas bag for shopping which we can reuse over and over again, we will not only be doing our part for the environment but spending alot less money in the long run. I carry my canvas bags with me all the time. Whenever I shop they are with me. They’re easy to use, they hold all my groceries and I feel good about doing my part to help save the environment. My friend and fellow blogger at Green Not Mean has some excellent tips and articles on how we can all as consumers help save our beautiful planet. Make sure to visit her blog as she is doing a wonderful service for us all.

Most of the stores in my area reward use of canvas bags; since my family has three, we bring them every time we go to those places. Though it does make it a lot more difficult to figure out what to use as bags for the kitchen trash; paper just doesn’t cut it, and I find it’s better to reuse shopping bags than to buy garbage bags just for that purpose.
Bit of a dilemma, isn’t it?
Well you are right. I’ve been saving my plastic bags for years so I have garbage bags for a while but when I’m out of them, then what?
I picked up a load of canvas bags at the Harrogate Crime Writers’ Festival last year (not only were they free, but they also had free books in them!) and we use them every week when we go to the supermarket.
If we have to pop out for bread or milk between main shops we always forget to bring them, so our plastic bags stay stocked.
Wow free totes with free books - where can I find that? Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.
