What Motivates You?
What motivates you? What takes you from the dark into light? As writers we all experience what we call writer’s block. Yet, I no longer believe writer’s block to be a writing disease. To me it simply does not exist. What exists is the fact that a writer without ideas and thoughts in order to create their words is merely a temporary state until motivation steps in and sparks the muse.
Motivation is inherent within all of us. It is the essence of our spirit or authentic self which just needs a kick start now and then. For myself, I know that if I need inspiration whether for writing or otherwise all I need to do is listen to music. It doesn’t even matter what type of music. In a moment music can take me from the darkness into light. Once in that light the motivation is flowing through my veins like an infusion of energy waiting to be born unto my notepad.
It is different for all of us but it is there. We just need to tap into what makes us feel elated to a point that we feel like balloons ready to burst. Our passions motivate us to do what it is we are meant to do.
When motivation is dormant you must ask it to come join you and the only way to unleash it’s power over your creative energies is to be in the moment with your passions, your favorite activities, your inner self. Allow your heart to rule your mind and motivation will unlock the spark you need to be your creative, authentic self.
